Bye bye!

I've decided to merge this blog with my photography blog, it's just tough to keep up with both and often times I find myself wanted to post the same message on both blogs.

Daymaker....

I read this awesome book this week by David Wagner called Life as a Daymaker.

The author talks about ways to make your life better by making people's days better. I love this concept and try to live it, though honestly sometimes life gets in the way, and negative thoughts take over. Reading this book was refreshing and was a good reminder to live my life the way I prefer (and not how my stress dictates). I am no Mother Theresa, but I'm trying:)

One of my favorite quotes was in the book and reading it sent me back to a time in college when this quote live on my dorm wall. With my mom dying it was easy for me to feel sorry for myself and also judge others if they did not react appropriately to my needs (even if my needs included solitude).

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
-Plato

I passed it on to two co-workers who are having a tough time...and I am continually repeating it to myself to help balance my judgments.

My gift to you:

This sweet picture:)

Hats off to Robin Roberts

Today on Good Morning America, Robin Roberts who is fighting cancer decided to lose the wig, for good. It was emotional and inspiring and reminds me of my mom when she used to fling her handkerchief off during a hot flash as she yelled, "It's f'ing hot in here, what do I care??" We'd all giggle because we, just as Robin knew- we are not our hair.

I took these this AM while out with Stretch. Such pretty colors!

Free Mumia Rally- part one

Ok let me preface by saying I do not condone this.

Ericha and I were driving home from a session yesterday and we ran into this rally to Free Mumia. I've never been to a rally, and I saw the opportunity for great photojournalism...so I worked on Ericha as we crawled through the traffic for several blocks:)

Here's part one.
